Kota, Rajasthan — A major fire broke out on Wednesday morning at an electric two-wheeler showroom on 80-Feet Road in Kota, destroying more than 50 electric bikes and scooters.
Officials said the blaze likely started due to a short circuit.
The fire began on the ground floor of the two-storey building, where dozens of EVs were parked for display and servicing.
Four fire tenders from nearby stations reached the spot and took over an hour to control the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to neighbouring structures.
Visuals showed fire personnel battling thick smoke as locals helped pull out partially burnt vehicles in an attempt to minimize losses.
Despite efforts, a majority of the EVs inside the showroom were completely charred.

A gym operating on the upper floor had several people present when the fire broke out, but all were safely evacuated.
Luckily, no injuries or casualties have been reported, officials confirmed.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
Preliminary reports point to a short circuit, though a detailed forensic assessment is expected.
Local reports suggest the financial loss may run into crores, considering the number of vehicles destroyed and the structural damage to the building.
The incident adds to growing concerns about fire safety at EV showrooms and workshops, where battery-powered vehicles are stored in large numbers indoors, increasing the risk and intensity of such fires.
