Exponent Energy Opens Its First EV Store, Targets 15+ Bengaluru Outlets by FY26

Bengaluru-based energy-tech startup Exponent Energy has entered the three-wheeler EV retail segment with the launch of its first Exponent Sales Point (ESP) Store in Laggere.

The new outlet will serve as a dedicated hub for purchasing Exponent-powered electric three-wheelers and for retrofitting existing CNG/LPG autos into EVs.

Located in Nandini Layout, the store functions as a one-stop centre where auto drivers can explore the full lineup of Exponent-enabled vehicles, understand the company’s 15-minute rapid charging technology, and take test rides. It also offers quick retrofit services, promising a 24-hour conversion for CNG/LPG three-wheelers.

With this first store operational, the company plans to open over 15 exclusive retail touchpoints across Bengaluru by the end of FY26.

Expanding EV Accessibility for Drivers

Exponent Energy currently offers five electric three-wheeler models developed in partnership with OEMs including Montra Electric and Kinetic Green.

All models sold through the store come with easy financing options, minimal paperwork, and a five-year or 3,000-cycle battery warranty.

Drivers will also gain access to the company’s rapidly expanding charging network, which includes more than 70 charging points across Bengaluru.

Ayush Bhargava, Head of Business at Exponent Energy, said the store marks a significant milestone in improving access to EV technology for auto drivers. He added that the company plans to replicate this retail model in more cities soon.

Retrofit Business Gains Momentum

In November 2025, Exponent entered the retrofit segment with its technology platform, Exponent Oto, which can convert any CNG or LPG auto into an electric version within 24 hours.

The retrofit offering includes zero down payment schemes, flexible EMIs, and an assured buyback after three years.

According to the company, drivers can save up to ₹5,000 per month even after factoring in EMI and charging costs.

A Growing EV Tech Ecosystem

Founded in 2020 by ex-Ather leaders Arun Vinayak and Sanjay Byalal, Exponent Energy has developed a suite of technologies—including its e^pack battery, e^pump charging stations, and e^plug connectors—that enable 0–100% charging in 15 minutes.

The company reports that over 2,500 EVs powered by its technology are currently on Indian roads, supported by 150+ charging stations and more than one million rapid charging sessions.

Exponent now operates in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Ahmedabad, and has raised $44.6 million across multiple funding rounds from investors including Lightspeed, Eight Roads Ventures, YourNest VC, and 3one4 Capital.

The new Bengaluru store is located at Tarun Arcade, Ground Floor, 3rd Block, Opp. Dr. Rajkumar Punyabhoomi, Nandini Layout, Bengaluru-560096.
