Mahindra has kicked off a major new chapter in India’s EV and motorsport landscape with the unveiling of the BE 6 Formula E Edition, a special-edition eSUV inspired by the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
Priced at ₹23.69 lakh, this is the first SUV globally to carry a full Formula E design identity.
Bookings open 14 January 2026, with deliveries scheduled from 14 February 2026. A second variant, the BE 6 Formula E FE3, will be available with additional features at ₹24.49 lakh.
Racing Culture Meets Road-Ready EV
The launch comes at a time when Formula racing viewership is booming in India.
Mahindra, the country’s earliest motorsport pioneer and the only Indian team to win on the Formula E grid, is positioning the BE 6 Formula E Edition as a bridge between motorsport fandom and everyday mobility.
The SUV carries a sharp, race-inspired identity: new signature bumpers, Firestorm Orange accents, aero-styled claddings, signature R20 alloy wheels, and Formula E branding across exterior panels.
Inside, the cabin uses vibrant Firestorm Orange themes, FIA-branded seat belts, dynamic soundscapes, and custom startup animations inspired by race cars.

Built for India’s New Motorsport Wave
Mahindra executives emphasised that the Formula E Edition wasn’t created as a cosmetic upgrade, but as a response to India’s rapidly growing motorsport identity.
R Velusamy, President – Automotive Business, said the goal was to build a machine that “evokes the sensation of being in a racing cockpit” while remaining unmistakably Indian.
CEO Nalinikanth Gollagunta added that “motorsport is India’s new young passion”, and the BE 6 Formula E Edition is aimed at bringing that spirit to the street.
Chief Designer Pratap Bose described the vehicle as “a celebration of India’s rising motorsport culture”, while brand ambassador Kush Maini, India’s FIA Formula 2 winner, said the SUV brings “the thrill, the boldness, and the energy of Formula E fandom to Indian roads”.
